Verlenging China- en Rusland Kennisnetwerken
De Nederlandse overheid blijft inzetten op het vergroten van de kennis in Nederland over China en Rusland/Oost-Europa door de verlenging van twee kennisnetwerken, het China Kennisnetwerk (CKN) en de Rusland & Oost-Europa Kennis Alliantie (REKA). Het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken tekende daartoe onlangs een overeenkomst met Instituut Clingendael, LeidenAsiaCentre en Raam op Rusland.
Beide kennisnetwerken staan ter beschikking voor de gehele Rijksoverheid. Zowel CKN als REKA hebben als doel om in samenwerking met experts in Nederland de kennis over China en Rusland/Oost-Europa te vergroten.
CKN en REKA zijn opgericht in 2021, de secretariaten van de twee kennisnetwerken zijn belegd bij Instituut Clingendael; in het geval van CKN worden de secretariaatstaken uitgevoerd in samenwerking met LeidenAsiaCentre, in het geval van REKA in samenwerking met Raam op Rusland. De secretariaten richten zich op de afstemming van vraag en aanbod van kennis en het organiseren van kennis- en netwerkbijeenkomsten. Hiermee dragen zij bij aan de ontwikkeling van effectiever beleid.

LeidenAsiaCentre
The aim of the LeidenAsiaCentre is to generate academic knowledge on modern East Asia that can find societal applications in the Netherlands. The LeidenAsiaCentre focuses primarily on East Asia: China (including Taiwan), Japan, Korea and Singapore, but is expanding its focus to include South and Southeast Asia, notably India and the Indo-Pacific. As an independent NGO by Dutch law, the LeidenAsiaCentre identifies topics related to social-economic and political developments within Asia that are of relevance for the Netherlands and Europe at large.
